Mayhew is a UK based brand founded by Louis Mayhew, presenting his second season with Fashion East.
With a background in manual labour, specifically painting and decorating, Louis brings an unconventional approach to
research and process. These fundamentals give access to materials and processes rarely seen within the fashion landscape,
forming the backbone of Mayhew’s distinctive design language.
Each collection sees Louis exploring further into his personal world, designing with increasing freedom of expression.
Steered by the unexpected and unforeseen, the work and process continue to grow through an ever-growing palette of
objects and materials.
Acquiring material occurs via innovative means, including mudlarking, foraging and from building sites, where the
quest of discovery becomes a driving force behind new ideas. By treating life itself as research, and finding beauty
in its quirks and nuances, Mayhew creates inventive compositions that are both personal and unmistakably novel.
AW26 evokes the essence of wonder and wander. Vintage climbing references blended with beach-combed objects
accompany familiar archetypes that behold truly unique compositions. The collection titled, Come on over, is
styled by long-time collaborator Lara McGrath.
